Arias
Winery

The Pécselyi Basin surrounded by hills is a world all its own to us.

BUILDING A WINERY BRAND BEGINNING WITH THE NAME

kihívás

József Kálmán’s family winery, originally called Kálmán Winery, has been on the market since 1991. In the past few years they have been facing the challenge of not being able to widen their market and make it into new Budapest restaurants and shops, because the packaging of their wines does not faithfully reflect the quality they represent.

megoldás

It became necessary to position the wines higher up according to their quality. When establishing the brand strategy with the owner and winemaker, we decided that the name does not convey the brand value, so we changed the name of the winery to Arias.

From the main message, to the name, all the way to the elements of the identity, we made sure everything reflects the true character of the vineyards and the winemaker. So business partners and wine-lovers alike can connect to it more easily and feel more confident in choosing Arias wines.

Arias Winery (originally called Kálmán Vineyards), which has been operating since 1991, lies in the Pécsely basin, hiding among hills on the northern shore of Central-Western-Europe’s largest lake, Balaton. The wines produced here have a very distinctive character due to the rocky limestone soil of the area. The winery’s terrace provides a full panorama of Balaton, which takes our breath away day by day.

“The Pécsely basin, surrounded by hills, is a different world with rich and unique wildlife, including countless protected and rare species.”
József Kálmán, the owner of the winery
“Constant change is what we love in winemaking, just like in nature itself. You never know what tomorrow brings, everything changes all the time. It is an eternal cycle, in which nature rules – you can truly understand and respect that when being in the vineyard.”
József Kálmán, the owner of the winery
